I was consumed with what my legacy was for quite awhile. Therapy and a different outlook changed that. Sort of a paradigm shift. Now I do think it's important to have as many pictures, videos, messages, recordings~anything that can spark a memory in a friend or family member if you are no longer around. It got me thinking......
What is your business legacy? Has it been handed down in a 4th generation family tree that you got the keys to eventually, or did you crawl, scrape, fight like a mountain lion to get yourself started in the business world? It can certainly make a huge difference in your life and your legacy. What you are remembered most about. Back home, most likely it would be music for me, since I met so many people in my younger days. But my life now and my business legacy is what I'm thinking about. Much like sports, it's not how you start, it's how you finish that matters.
To be honest, I just want to be happy. And I want my kids to smile when they think of dad. But I have a lot more years ahead. Maybe my legacy is still being written. It's just time to pivot a little. Cheers friends, and just be happy too. In whatever you do for a living, for love, for family, for art, for your business....because you are making your legacy every single day. I used to tell my children this little thome.
"You can't tell someone what your reputation is going to be. You must earn it one day at a time". Hmmmm. Wise grasshopper.
